Conference & Banqueting Manager – Maternity Cover

Cover will be 9-12 months or until post holder returns

Specific Duties

You are responsible for the delivery of the conference and banqueting products and services and to deliver all published services to a consistently high standard.

To support the F&B Manager with the development and implementation of existing and new, best practices and procedures.

Minimise conflict within the Complex and between interacting departments through contributions at meetings.

Development, motivation and support of all staff to ensure the effective completion of all their roles and responsibilities.

Attend meetings and training when required.

All staff appraisals & training plans for conference and banqueting completed by January of each year.

Involvement in business development through pro active approach to promotions to encourage new & existing business.

Constructive input in monthly departmental meetings.

Review and update SOP manual on a quarterly basis.

Completion of Eproductive Time and Attendance by midday every Monday

Monitor holiday usage over the financial year to ensure that holiday is taken & the correct staffing levels are available.

Duty Manager shifts as required.

Adhere to & ensure that staff follow procedures in place regarding stock control in order to maintain designated GP%

Measurement and Control

Ensure effective Wage “V” Revenue.

Completion of designated stock control and record systems

Minimise all forms of waste.

Promote hygiene in the F&B areas and ensure current legislation is adhered to.

Ensure all equipment and utensils are maintained in line with current health and safety regulations.

Minimise customers waiting times and maximise customer satisfaction by continuous improvement of service reliability.

Ensure all payments are received and unders and overs are investigated and minimised.

Ensure no accounts are left open on the till systems & all postings to room & group are with correct signatures.

Use only nominated suppliers, and orders are correctly processed through B-Online

Maintain equipment to designated levels within the budgeted cost levels, and in line with current legislation.

Ensure enough physical resources are available i.e. stock and staff.

Ensure shift patterns reflect the needs of the business.

Public areas are customer ready at all times.

Maximise on all sales opportunities

Retaining of AA & IIP standards

Continuous improvement of service reliability.

Maintain an open and friendly atmosphere within the working environment.

Maintain designated levels of hygiene in all service areas and stores to meet current legislation.

Establish and maintain the condition of work areas and equipment.

Receive, handle and store deliveries in line with current legislation.

Propose constructive solutions for customers and take action to deliver solutions.

Maintain recording of cleaning and hygiene schedules within all your areas of responsibility.

Sales

Develop and maintain constructive exchanges with customers.

Be familiar with all in house products.

Be familiar with current menus, wine lists and beverages.

Contribute to the identification and implementation of sales development activities.

Contribute to all promotional and advertising activities.

Ensure up selling techniques are used by all F&B staff.

Development

Develop, create and maintain effective working relationships.

Gain the trust and support of all colleagues and team members.

Contribute to the development of self and others.

Attend training sessions and meetings when required.

Be committed to Investors in People.

Carry out assessment of staff against objectives i.e. appraisal interviews.

Contribute constructively to the development of all new projects.

Continual development and improvement of all procedure systems to ensure efficient and profitable operation.

Develop training plan for all new starters & completion of training.

Health and Safety

Maintain safety and security procedures within your area and other departments.

Maintain a safe and secure working environment for all staff and customers.

Maintain and monitor the cleaning procedures and ensure the correct uses of materials are in line with COSHH regulations.

Be familiar with staff action plan in case of fire.

Maintain personal health and hygiene.

Ensure you have a working knowledge of all fire equipment and procedures within your areas of responsibility.
