The Lea Marston Hotel, Sutton Coldfield, announces £500,000 investment in a new Spa despite the economic slowdown.
Work has already commenced on the project, which is due for completion in April 2010 with the opening planned for early May, and follows a sustained period of investment in the hotel, golf course and leisure club, positioning it as one of the premier four star hotel and spa destinations in the midlands.
This new investment will see the creation of a first class spa offering unique packages and experiences and the updating of the existing health club facilities. The new Spa will increase the number of treatment rooms and introduce new features including a Rasul mud chamber and a hydrotherapy bath.
It is expected that the development will create a number of new employment opportunities for the local community.
Furthermore, the contract was awarded to Wedgewood Construction a local building firm, whose director, Gordon Lay, commented “We are delighted to have won this contract and to continue to work with the owners of the Lea Marston Hotel who have been investing so much in their property, especially in these challenging economic times.”
